DTA Visit to The Houses of Parliament

Students from DTA were invited by Citizens UK to speak at Show Racism the Red Card's All Party Parliamentary Group, with a focus on racial justice. Students spoke with such confidence, passion, and clarity about the importance of diverse representation in teaching staff and leadership and were met with huge rounds of applause. The room was full of influential people (including Luther Burrell, Jeremy Corbyn and the Shadow Schools Minister, Catherine McKinnel.) Most notably, Baroness Doreen Lawrence was present and was absolutely blown away by the students' words. She has made a personal commitment to take our asks to Keir Starmer in advance of further discussions surrounding Labour's proposed Race Equality Act.
