Y9 Aberdovey Expedition
Event Date: 04.12.2017
The Year 9 expedition to Aberdovey, Wales, will take place from Monday 4 December to Friday 8 December 2017. During the expedition, students will experience a range of challenging outdoor activities including route planning, navigation and camp craft; the students will also participate in an expedition.
As you are aware, every student in Year 9 is currently working towards the highly prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award that will further set our students apart in their future university applications. The expedition element of the Aberdovey expedition will also serve as the practice section towards the successful completion of the Bronze Award.
The academy is heavily subsidising the cost of the expedition and we have been very fortunate to secure a bursary from Vanquis Bank worth over £20,000. Therefore, the price for 5 days is £200 which includes all transport, accommodation, food and Duke of Edinburgh costs.
- A non-refundable deposit of £50 will be required by the 13 October
- A further £50 by the 10 November
- The remaining £100 by 1 December
A parents’ meeting will be held at 4.45pm on Monday 9 October where more information will be provided including what the students will need to bring and an insight into the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
At Trinity, we would never want a student to miss an experience because of financial constraints, as such, any family
who finds themselves in hardship should contact Miss Thompson, Principal.
